Goodbye
One by one, the Ethiopian readers are leaving.
You can practically see it happening live by pressing 'refresh' on the page stats.
Two weeks ago, MeskelSquare was dipping in and out of Afrigator's Top Ten African weblogs. As I write, it is ranked 19 and falling fast.
How sad to be in decline.

hey, there's still some of us left. I am sorry to see you leave Ethiopia since you were a really good source of information without the vitriol that seems to be a brand of the blogs on Ethiopia. On top of that, you could tell stories with the right mix of soberness and humor. I know I will continue to read your blog and enjoy the photographs you take in Sudan. I'm sure you'll do as great a job in portraying Sudan as did with Ethiopia.

I still follow your work ocaissionally but let's face it, competition for reader attention in "the Sphere" is really tough with over a 100 million blogs out there.
I wouldn't worry too much about your present rankings at Afrigator as long as your Technorati and Blogpulse rankings remain strong. The Nr. 3-ranked blog at Afrigator today is "Cheap Flights to South Africa". Obviously they need to tune their Top 100 blog selection algorithm a bit more over at Afrigator before the ranking system is taken seriously.

Attention and readership will always be there as long as you continue to put out relevant news and great photos. I don't see that stopping anytime soon!
Actually, I think you might gain a far larger readership by being in Sudan. It just takes time for people to know you're writing/reporting/photographing from there.
