GlobalVoices on Ethio bloggers on the CUD trial

Just posted a GlobalVoices roundup on Ethiopian bloggers' reaction to the CUD trial verdict.

Ethiopian bloggers first to report shock guilty verdict

Ethiopian bloggers were among the first to report on a court’s shock decision to convict 38 opposition politicians of a range of serious charges including “outrages against the constitution” earlier this week. (Here is the BBC story on the trial, and past GlobalVoices coverage.)

There are no quotes from pro-government bloggers in the round-up because, as far as I can tell, there are still no active, pro-government bloggers out there.

unfortunately there are too many pro-government blogs/forums out there too mention. that might actually be the sad part because for every pro-massacre journalist like Urael and Ethiopian Review, there is also pro-hate politics, pro-government forums like aigaforum.com and hagerfikerradio.com's hateful commentaries!!
other pro-government extreme blogs and forums, including samuel, dagmwi and hmbasha.net, only look at event in one NARROW viewpoint. for most ethiopians, the moderate www.ethiopiafirst.com is the ONLY place where all sides of ethiopian politics are tolerated and entertained.

anyway it is the enormous amount of pro-government(pro-meles,pro-hate), anti-government(pro-CUD,pro-hate)and anti-peaceful politics(pro-riot,pro-massacre) websites, forums and blogs in the Diaspora that is KILLING ethiopian democracy!!!! Ethiopians in the diaspora need many moderate & pro-democracy blogs, forums & websites like www.ethiopiafirst.com or WE ARE ALL DOOMED!!!
