Herald hacked
The homepage of the state-controlled Ethiopian Herald has been hacked for days.
And no one seems to have noticed - or done anything about it back at base at the Ministry of Information.
Am I the only one who reads this thing online?
And who are XTech Inc, Pablin77 and the BiyoSecurityTeam?

very funny. You're probably the only one visiting it i guess. Government websites don't update or post anything relevant anyways. I don't think their content attracts any traffic.

I have never read this newspaper online and I am not affected at all! Only ferenji's like you who want to know what the government is saying may want to read that!

You are the only one who reads the ethiopian herald period.

Yes Andrew, you are the only one reading the 'official' lies ;-) Funny enough, all the attackers signatures are still there. That's what happens when you put ex-rebels in charge of web hosting. Their AK-47 is useless here.

Safiya, as the saying goes, ignorance is a bliss, for your info, most of the ex-rebels have do have many educated supporters.

Of course you are not the only one reading the Herald. I make an effort to read it at least once a week online. It may be a government newspaper but you can still get useful information from it. I see the usual humorless Diaspora Ethiopians trying to tell you what you should and should not read. They try to do that here in Washington dc, where I live, too.
thanks

Hi Andrew,
Walta, ENA and Ethiopian Herald, they have all the same news. So I read walta and get the chance of reading their part of the story.
Of course my facts aren't these news agencies.

Hello Andrew, I scan the Herald once in a while to just read the headlines. Otherwise the facts get a bit flimsy. Also the style is very boring. I suspect that the Herald site is run by the same Ethiopians that have catapulted the nation to her current acclaim.
Those who responded and claimed " not " to read the Herald but are apparently dedicated followers of you blog should get great comfort in knowing that you do read the Herald and other news sources and update them on the important news as you see it. Someone ought to help the despondent diaspora and I am glad that you are there for us.

I am just shocked beyond belief that you read the Herald Andrew. Apparently the Herald is a fully automated garbage recycling site, otherwise how could one explain that such an egregious hacking could go unnoticed by the webmaster?

Andrew:
I do read it occasionally to get balanced information from inside and outside Ethiopia.
Having noticed why don’t you report it to the government?
Cheers emekonnen

Hi Andrew,
Very funny! Well, I have only visited the Ethiopian Herald website 3 times since 2004, however, don't mind these holligans.
