1,500 heavly armed Eritrean troops march into the UN Temporary Security Zone on the Ethio-Eritrean border, ringing alarm bells around the world and violating a six-year truce.
"This time is harvest time after the summer and the army is there to engage in the harvest," said Eritrean information minister Ali Abdu by phone from Asmara, saying that crops grown in the arid region included wheat, buckwheat, and vegetables.

Minister, why do the army require tanks to "engage in the harvest"?
... Ali Abdu said that the troops moved into the western part of zone with tanks because "these are soldiers and if they are going to move from point A to point B, they have to take their equipment." ...

Ato Ali deserves a spot on ETV as a stand up comedian. Having to work for crazy dictators must bring out the comedian in information ministers. Remember Baghdad Bob?
