Hey, This is more a question than a comment I suppose but I'm curious. I spoke to a young friend from Ethiopia today who I've not seen for a while. He's well educated (currently at a UK uni) and what scared me. I was asking about his opinion on the elections, the imprisonments, the genocide charges etc. His response was (seriously not joking) "they lost the election, they tried to overthrow the government they deserve all they get......... I went to school with [important detainee who shall remin unnamed]'s son, he always seemed nice now i know he's a rebel" I was just wondering if this was a general tygrian p.o.v in Ethiopia at the moment?

If I may add to your suspicion, I have a Tigrian friend too who said the same thing and who said one of the members of the Opposition here in the U.S.(who had been imprisoned on an on and off basis by the government for being outspoken) has embezzled government money, which baffeled me because the guy whom he was talking about never worked for the government as he was a buisnessman even prior to the Woyane rule.

It is good to ask, but do not ask Ethiopians about Ethiopian things. You better find out by yourself. Ethiopians only know what they know, and do not know what others know.

No wonder if an ethnic “Tigrea” supports the current Government dominated by ethnic “Tigreans”, whereas a non-tigrea denounces it.
