VOA - from devil worship to treason
Those Voice of America (VOA) journalists get worse and worse. Apparently they have moved on from devil worship to treason.
Meanwhile, the lead story on the government-controlled Ethiopian Herald keeps us up to date with news that really matters.
Premier says Ethiopia Keen to strengthen cooperation with SlovakiaAddis Ababa - Prime Minister Meles Zenawi indicated that Ethiopia is desirous to enhancing its cooperation with Slovakia in the economic and other fields.
During talks with Slovak Foreign Minister Eduard Kukan in his office yesterday, Prime Minister Meles expressed Ethiopia’s readiness to further enhance its bilateral cooperation with Slovakia in the economic, political, education, culture and other spheres.
The piece doesn't say it, but I assume they also discussed matters of mutual interest.

Quotes from ANNETTE C. SHECKLER the Chief of the Horn of Africa Service of VOA in the late 90's.
"...VOA appointed a new Service Chief chosen from the ranks of the existing Amharic staff. A former EPRP member, the new Service Chief waged a war not only against Mengistu but, according to officials of the EPRDF government, the Eritrean government, and VOA staff, he aggressively pursued a more narrow partisan agenda. Programming began to reflect his increasingly anti-TPLF and anti EPLF/Eritrean independence bias. Second, five senior Amharic staff, all US-educated, often in dispute over the partisan direction of programming, left the Service! This exodus of highly qualified and experienced staff should have alerted VOA upper management of the gravity of problems within that service. The Service Chief recruited former employees of Ethiopia’s nefarious Ministry of Information, recent émigrés to the United States, to replace them..."

The only place treason, genocide and journalism have become a joke at the moment i think is in Ethiopia. The Ethiopian authorities and the prosecuters working in this case either donot know what they are doing or perhaps donot have the human consciousness necessary to act as a human being! Where in the world have you ever seen MPs , Prime minister-to-be's, Mayer elects, university professors, lawyers, economists, engineers, human rights activists,nation-loving activists, students,actors,perhaps pastors,citizens, youngsters,civic society leaders,jounalists, ...etc altogether crammed in prison and charged with TREASON and GENOCIDE and even killed whenever possible! This is either in colonial Africa or aparthied South Africa or today's Ethiopia! The funny part of the charge is that they were told to join the parliament despite whatever -- otherwise they will be charged with treason and genocide -- and the whole civilised world watches! Oh..how helpless are we, ethiopians!?!
