I've been reviewing your last posts through the day, so it was over midnight when I reached this one. Merry Christmas to you too, with some delay.
You've probably missed something not being in AA for the 10K event. As related in the Things I Should Have Written Down blog, some young people mixed with the running crowd to chant obvious political slogans. They were amazingly able to run fast, especially downhill, while shouting in chorus and though I was running steadily while they were only able to walk uphill, they eventually were catching me. When I got to Gebreselassie Rd (fmr Asmara Rd), reaching the last kilometer, they were around me again. Sure, I saw one of those translucid and inefficient small and rounded plastic water cans, supplied by the organizers and sponsors, flying in the air, but I'm not sure it has been the spark. What I'm definitely sure about is that a policeman (plain brown uniform) was making his way against the stream of runners with his stick high above his head. While I tried to avoid the obstacle, the policeman started to beat someone and most of the people around me stopped to watch and probably react. There are for sure some pictures of it as I spotted some cameras in the public. I did not stop. I was too knackered to and the man I was following, maybe 30 years older than me, turned back to me to whisper "Ayzo, ayzo !".

Happy ferenji New Year
