Happy New Year Andrew!
To celebrate Ethiopian New Year, I have sent you a copy of Erich Von Daniken's "Chariots of the Gods - Was God an Astronaut."
Just like the pyramids, I have no doubt the stelae at Axum were built by space "gods" as well!

Just a quick note for the blogger, I sometimes read your bloggs, some of them are interesting. The problem with u Ferenjis, u seem to kno the ppl and country in your 3 or 4 months stay, while the truth is u dont fully understand the complexity of the culture of Eth, that said.. on the other hand u seem to undermine or criticise us the folks in US asif we dont understand or help folks back home, especially in the political arena, yall labelled us "Internet politicians" but for your info anually folks in diaspora remit from 750 million to a billion dollars back to ETh, if it is not for this ppl you can imgine the ordeal of our ppl, or even the existance of Eth as a country? so dont try to undermine our role, yall need to understand that we have equally concerned or have stake in socio-economic and political issues of Eth, so folks like Amb. Brazile who have no idea about the lives of Eth try to patronize us as internet politicians BS, while the truth is we have the capacity, knowledge, will and passion to help our folks out of their misery. Happy New year!

DJ-
Instead of sending 750 million dollars a year to our relatives so they can continue to be lazy and continue to sit around complaining about the situation but do nothing to improve, we should send 750 million dollars in a coordinated concerted effort to help develope our country and educate our people to work together for the comunal good. As painful as the medicine is we must stop encouraging dependence on foreign assistance to individuals, including begging from relatives abroad. We have the best land in africa, the reason for our poverty is generations of bad decissions and our preferance to work against our neighbor instead of working for the common good.
Posted by: Dawit at September 18, 2005 3:12 PM
Dawit,
Our ppl are not being lazy.. it is the system under they live is the problem.. our folks are tenacious by nature.. most are successful given the chance. But communism and stalinist leaders like Meles and co. with little knowledge of governance brought this to our ppl. Dont you dare to call my folks names who are dying everyday of torture, killings, preventable dieases, hunger.. our ppl are victims of despots. The remittance atleast keepin them alive otherwise they could have died in mass, so instead critising these poor folks or calling them names be helpful to keep them alive till their time come to shine which is on the horizon!!!

Andrew,
You have been awfully quiet these days...how is the political atmosphere in the city now adays? Are the federal police still cruising the city in large numbers? Please comment on what is going on.
Posted by: gg at September 18, 2005 8:53 PM
I wonder how long it will take Andrew to settle his account with ETC.
Oh oh! me thinks Andrew has disappeared in to the black hole of the infamous Ethiopian goverment bureaucracy.
Someone should try to rescue him.
This should be interesting.
:-)

Andrew:
We missed you these days. How long does it take to set up your internet account?
I really enjoy your blog. Yours is the best. Take car of yourself and be careful of the Weyanes (TPLF). You just don't know how they operate. Truth, to them, is whatever Meles and Bereket puke up.
By the way, you are right on the money about the internet politics from Washington, D.C.

Posted by: Taps at September 26, 2005 2:23 PM
what's up? where are you now? No deal with ETC yet? Any pics from Meskel? Unless you have pictures of Meskel fire from Meskel square how come you labelled your page as meskel square?
Posted by: teddy at September 26, 2005 6:09 PM
At this rate, we will not hear from Andrew until 1999.
I bet ETC is under orders to make sure he can never blog again.
Or perhaps he is getting a lot of "neges" (tomorrow) from some ETC employee.

Guys I saw Andrew last week in Addis. He is alive and well.
Posted by: Tamiru at October 7, 2005 1:33 PM
alexander
When you lie try to be a bit consisitent please.
This is what you wrote last week (Sept. 28):
"Sorry to inform this to you but Andrew heavens was passed away 3 weeks a go by car accident."
You claim he died three weeks ago from September 28, 2005 (the date you posted your cruel joke) and yet the bus accident occured on September 22nd (less than a week before Sept. 28) (http://www.int.iol.co.za/index.php?set_id=1&click_id=87&art_id=qw1127391122735B231)
Regardless, Andrew is alive and well.
Posted by: Tamiru at October 7, 2005 1:45 PM
Dear Tamiru,
I know how you are feeling but please understand me, this is not a jock and you didn’t see Andrew last week!
By the way if you are in doubt about my information why don’t you email him? (His email address can be found on the right corner of the home page) So that at list he can turn off the comment page.
Sorry to say this again but the truth is Andrew was passed away few weeks back. May God mercy upon his soul.
Posted by: Alexander at October 7, 2005 1:46 PM
I heard that Alexander has been very jelous of Andrew for a long time.

Quate "Well, looks like Andrew has just posted 2 pictures to his Flickr acount today (Oct 7)."
Oh thank God! What a horrible guy this Alexander! This has to be illegal...Andrew you must report his IP address. In any case, it's very strange how you can feel like you know someone over the internet.
I guess... The reports of your death are greatly exaggerated. LOL. Thank God!

Andy,
Most of your fans are concerned. Please understand and let us know that you are alive and well. If not it would be great if his wife tells us something.
