Comments on comments again

I just had to delete another load of comments on two recent posts. Just to re-state what now amounts to Meskel Square's "comments policy". Any comment that uses ethnic or racial insults gets deleted. On days like this when I haven't got the time to read every word of every rant, the whole stream gets deleted.

Fair enough! Thanks for the update on the election results.

No sooner has NEBE announced the official results for 492 constituencies that gives EPRDF the majority seats than CUD announced its rejection of the result. It is a shameful and irresponsible act the international community needs to condemn.

this result was expected, unlike some of the CUD members' futile attempt to pursue the investigation process trusting fair and balanced treatment from NeBE, it is a sad day for Ethiopians, it is time for them to choose to continue with their misery or fight for better future. Meles & co. continue with their failed policies, favoritism, corruption, revenge, etc. thus tens of thousands would die from hunger, preventable diseases, HIV/AIDs, torture, killings, etc.. so the choice is on the peoples hand to continue to die silently or go out and fight these tyrants and die and prevail.. so the generations to come would have better lives. I hope this generation learns from the wisdom of our fore fathers whom kept this country from foreign invadors, and now this generations duty to take care of these home grown enemies!

Thank you for the update. Now that this part is over, I hope the country can get back to the business of improving the lives of ordinary people.

As an Ethiopian who grew up in America I'm Always confused by the Pride we Ethiopians show in our various ethnic divisions. Markato you know the rest of the world just doesn't care what happens in Ethiopia let alone which subset of our population is oppresssing the rest of the population. Anyhoo glad to see you have so much pride

This past election may not be perfect. Think of it this way, prior to the election the democratic glass was empty and this election marked the democratic level at half.

If I were the opposition I would look at it as half full, rather than half empty and work on to fill it to the brim as situations permit.
