The stalled celebration
Here are some photos from Axum over the past few days. They are mainly of the celebrations building up in the town before news of the delay came through. The latest rumours are that the obelisk will be arriving on Sunday or Monday, just under a week late. But the only thing I have learned for definite during the past week is that no one knows anything.

Thanks so much for updating us regarding this historical event. You are enabling multitudes of Ethiopians and their friends to monitor this event from all directions of the world. I personally have been following your postings and it is pretty much close to a live TV coverage. I think you are providing a great service, thanks much.

You area doing a great job there in my homeland Ethiopia. I just came back from Ethiopia 3 month ago but still want to see those lovly pictures from my home country, ETHIOPIA. I am showing everyone i know here in OHIO and they like it.
